Summerlin Dermatology

I'm giving this business one star because I'm an existing patient, who has now called in twice and left a message to get an appointment, and I've yet to hear from someone. The original call was over two weeks ago. I've also tried to talk to someone regarding a bill that I'm trying to pay, but like all their other extensions, no one picks up, and you have to leave a message but again, no one has called me back. Their online bill pay doesn't work, and I'm simply trying to pay my bill. They make it incredibly hard just to simply do business with them, they clearly don't need the business.

I have been a patient here for over 5 years. I used to see Alice, the NP, during my time there but she had sadly moved away and my most recent visit was with Jessica, the other NP. I had brought up an issue with my milia and acne with Alice before, and she had continued to be understanding and was able to switch me to a new prescription to help. Recently though, during my most recent visit, I had the utmost pleasure of seeing Jessica. I had brought up issues with my milia again, since they have been recurring with whiteheads, and all she said to me was that "I am getting older and I should be kinder to myself." ????? Hello? I'm paying to be seen and this is all I get???? I'm genuinely confused because Alice at least was able to hear me out but this is all this NP has to say to me? When I brought up that I'd be going away for school but would be back for summer/breaks, she just noted that I should find someone else instead of explaining what to do, treatment, or other options I had. I've been going here for years and never have I been dismissed before as "I am getting older and I should be less critical of myself"???? Am I not supposed to be worried? Genuinely one of the most awkward and most apathetic visits I've ever had anywhere. Maybe her saying I should find a new place was a sign for me to find a better dermatology office with staff that's actually willing to hear my health concerns.

I am speaking on behalf of my Mother. She had an incredibly disappointing experience at this dermatology clinic. She had waited approximately 90 minutes just for a brief 5-minute visit with the doctor. What's even more concerning is that this visit felt like a prime example of profit-driven healthcare. They were ready to proceed with a minor procedure without even checking with my mother’s insurance, potentially leaving her with a staggering $2000 bill until she asked will this be covered by her insurance. Furthermore, the intake form included questions about self-esteem and emotions that felt wholly inappropriate for a dermatology visit. My mother came seeking medical expertise, not to delve into her emotional state about her physical insecurities. My intention in writing this review is not to come across as an unreasonable complainer. My mother has been dealing with a painful lump that requires removal, and as her daughter, I was concerned that she could have been taken advantage of in this situation.
